LG Ally with Android OS 2.1 on a Fast Processor

G is slowly revealing the details on the LG Ally, a smartphone running Google's Android OS that will hit the market later this month. The company's micro-site dedicated to this model has been updated with additional details and images.
Over the weekend, LG began running an Iron Man 2-themed TV commercial featuring the Ally. This shows the device being used as a smartphone without revealing all the details. Since then, more information has been posted on an official company site.
This model will be a slider, with a landscape-oriented keyboard that can be hidden behind its 3.2-inch touchscreen. It is going to run Google Android OS 2.1 and include the standard suite of software, including Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps, and more. LG has yet to reveal the Ally's processor speed, but did say this model will offer animated wallpapers, a feature that so far has only appeared in Android-based devices with 1 GHz processors.
The company also says the smartphone is going to have a 3G cellular-wireless networking, a microSD memory card slot, and a GPS receiver. Its camera will have a flash, but its resolution is not yet known.

Pricing and Availability 
The LG Ally will be introduced on May 20, but its manufacturer still has yet to say what wireless carrier is going to be offering it. Unconfirmed sources say this will be Verizon Wireless, though.
